Can Map Camera ship products internationally?
Yes. Overseas orders go through our
eBay store
or use Buyee's proxy shopping service for eligible items from our Japanese site. There are countries and regions we cannot ship to,
so check the listing or ask us before you order.
What do I need for tax-free shopping?
Foreign visitors generally need to present the passport used to enter Japan.
Japanese nationals temporarily returning from overseas need their passport plus additional documents proving non-resident status, such as a Certificate of Residence or a copy of the Supplementary Family Register, subject to eligibility requirements.
Requirements depend on your individual status, so please check the latest guidance before visiting.
Is there any other discount besides tax-free?
No. Tax-free is the only discount we offer, and it cannot be combined with a further
visitor discount.
How long does delivery take?
It depends on the item and the destination country. Contact us with the product code
before you buy and we will give you an estimate for your address.
Can I buy an item listed as “Online only / Internet only” in the store?
Not in person, no. Those items are held for web orders and must be ordered through our
website. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Do the cameras have English menus?
Most bodies sold in Japan can switch menu language, but not all: SONY products at our
store are stocked in Japanese-market specification only. Ask staff about the specific
model before you pay, or check the market version stated on our eBay listings.
What happens if a used item develops a fault after I buy it?
Bring it to the store within one week of purchase and we will exchange it for an
equivalent item or refund you. This does not cover faults we already described in the
listing or in the condition rank — for example items sold as “defective” or “junk”.
Can I sell or trade in my gear while visiting Japan?
Yes. Our Buy & Trade-In Center is on the 5th floor. Please bring the equipment, its original box and accessories if available, and photo identification. Eligibility and pricing will be confirmed in store.
Please note: Items purchased tax-free cannot be sold or traded in before they have been taken out of Japan.
Which product code should I quote when I contact you?
The code printed on the product page or the eBay listing. Including it in your first
message lets us answer in one reply instead of three.
