Stipulations of MAP Extra Warranty
Article 1(Persons eligible for participation and for compensation)
This system shall apply to private individuals only to the exclusion of business corporations and groups of any kind. Also, private individuals who, upon payment of warranty charges provided for in Article 2, have purchased goods which are regarded as those included in this system as provided for in Article 3 shall be regarded persons eligible for compensation in this system, it being understood that any persons other than those shall not be entitled to any compensation in this system.
Article 2(Details and scope of compensation under this system)
Compensation under this system shall be made in cases where loss or damage is caused within Japan in the courses of use mentioned below:
a.「Breakdown」
Breakdown is caused to products in the course of normal use in accordance with directions of use, labels, etc. attached to them. (Natural breakdown)
1. Breakdown will be covered during manufacturers’ periods of warranty for purchase prices (including consumption taxes) of products, services charges and products during compensation periods up to purchase prices. Depending, however, on products, there care cases where warranty periods are different. In such case, services will start after the termination of manufacturer’s warranty periods.

- In cases of repair
“Repair” shall be covered up to purchase prices (including consumption taxes) of the products concerned, and “breakage” shall be covered up to amounts calculated at percentages fixed in accordance with the lengths of usage of the products concerned.
- In case of a total loss
- 1) Compensation by way of a total loss shall be made in cases where limits for repair are exceeded, where repair is difficult for reasons of the manufacture and supply of parts being suspended or of manufacturer’s business being suspended, or where products perished due to a fire, etc.
- 2) Replacement shall be made by way of products of the same kinds.(In cases where products of the same kinds are not available, exchanges shall be made with equivalent products.
- 3) In cases where values of exchanged products exceed the limits of compensation, customers shall bear such differences on their own account.
- 4) In cases where the values of exchanged products are lower than limits of compensation, compensation shall be considered to have been made with exchanges with products of equivalent quality, and no refund shall be made of differences between such values and limits
- 5) In cases where the decision of a total loss is made, the Company may accept an order for repair on condition that any differences from the limit of compensation shall be born by the person who placed the order..
- 6) With the payment of compensation, the contract shall terminate automatically and the right of ownership of the products concerned shall be transferred to the Company by way of subrogation.
- Other cases
- 1) In cases where manufacturers are liable for an accident, no compensation shall be made at all under this system even during the period of compensation.
- 2) 6-month warranties for used products shall be subject to separate provisions.
- 3) Regarding compensation for sets of products, the Company shall fix amounts. Amounts of compensation piece by piece shall be cased on the Company’s sale prices of products at the time of customers’ participation in this scheme for compensation.
●Deductibles (per accident and per product)
- Breakdown (repair and total loss): Nil
- Breakage (repair and total loss): ¥3,000 inclusive of tax
Article 3 (Products qualified for compensation and its scope)
Products which are objects in this system shall be those which were purchased from the Company and fall under any of the following cases:
- 1. Products are those acknowledged by the Company and designated as such at shops selling them.
- 2. Presentation of the certificate of participation is made at the time when repair is requested.
- 3. Products are those having manufacturers’ (including sellers’)Warranty and their respective periods of guarantees exceed one year.(excluding services for used ones and those in custody).
- 4. Repair in Japan is possible.
- 5. It has to be the main body of the products.
- 6. Products are those mentioned in the certificate of participation provided for by the Company.
Article 4 (Cases where compensation is not made)
Compensation shall not apply to loss or damage falling under any of the following cases:
- 1. Loss or damage to product not mentioned in the certificate of participation
- 2. Loss or damage caused outside of Japan and repair costs incurred outside of Japan.
- 3. Loss or damage subject to manufacturers’ warranty or loss or damage for which manufacturers are liable for contractual or legal reasons.
- 4. Loss or damage due to a willful act or gross negligence, and breakdown due to handling against directions or precautions for use.
- 5. Loss or damage due to unauthorized processing or conversion.
- 6. Products falling under any of the following cases:
- 1) Cables, clamps, screws, cartridges, dry cells, electric lamps, and accessories and parts regarded as consumables.
- 2) Controllers, remote controls, microphones, headphones, manuals, media and accessories like crating materials packaged with the body (excluding, however, those built in bodies).
- 3) Requests for repair the malfunctioning of software like data, programs, etc.
- 4) Expenses other than repair costs such as postage, various charges and transportation fees for a request for repair, rental charges for a substitute during the repair period, loss of opportunities and time during the period of repair.
- 5) Loss or damage to software like computer programs, input data, etc.
- 7. Degrading of quality due to wear and tear.
- 8. Repair made by other companies without approval from the Company.
- 9. Loss or damage due to defective products (pre-existing malfunctioning including a bug)
- 10. Rust, mold, changes in quality, discoloration or any other similar cases due to natures of products and their environmental situations, and any other similar causes. Also, rats, vermin or surface scratches without interfering with purposes of use, uncleanable stains.
- 11. Theft, missing or leaving behind of products (including loss of products due to sinking into water).
- 12. Loss or damage due to disasters and natural calamities like earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions or flooding.
- 13. Loss or damage due to fraud, embezzlement, etc.
- 14. Loss or damage due to breakage, etc. resulting from use by third parties
- 15. Loss or damage due to the exercise of national or public authority like seizure, confiscation, destruction, etc.
- 16. Accidents due to radioactive, explosive or harmful nature of substances contaminated with radioactive or nuclear fuel substances
- 17. Loss or damage due to war, military act of foreign nations, revolution, insurrection, civil war, armed rebellion, or any other similar disturbance or riot.
Article 5 (Request for compensation and matters for attention)
- 1. On the occurrence of a breakdown or breakage accident to the products, persons eligible for compensation are requested to submit or mail them, the manufacturer’s warranty (except in cases of used or consignment sales products) and the certificate of participation immediately to the Company’s nearest shop or counters in charge of mail0order sales.
- 2. The repair of products shall, in principle, be made by shops of the Company. Products brought to other places (other companies) for repair are ineligible for compensation.
- 3. The repair of products shall be made up to the level, in principle, of their states at the time of delivery or sale. However, data, programs, etc. shall not be object of compensation.
Article 6 (Coming into force of the system and its effective period)
- 1. This system shall come into effect at the time when a person purchases products which are objects of the system, applies for participation in the system at the time of the purchase and pays compensation charges. (In the case of the products to be delivered, the system takes effect at the time of starting the delivery.)
- 2. Any ex post facto participation in the system shall not be admitted.
- 3. The period of the system shall be valid for 3 years for new products and 1 year of services for used or consignment sales, the expiry time and date being 24:00 hours of the day prior to the day corresponding to the date of commencement.
- 4. The registration of participation in the system shall be made with the payment of.
- 5. In principle, “the certificate of participation” shall not be reissued, and all participants are requested to keep their certificates very carefully.
Article 7 (Cancellation of the application for participation in the system))
- 1. Contracting parties may cancel the application of the system to product that only in case where, during the period of compensation, the return of the product to our shops is admitted for reasons of a defect, etc. of the products. In such cases, it shall be understood that a contract has not materialized in the system and a refund shall be made of charges which have already been paid.
- 2. In no cases other than the above, the cancellation of the contract shall be admitted. The Company shall not refund any compensation charges in cases of cancellation of the contract for reasons other than the above.
Article 8 (Prohibitions)
Contracting parties to this system for compensation shall be prohibited from transferring, pawning or mortgaging their positions or rights provided for herein.
Article 9 (Transfer of products covered hereunder)
The contract of compensation in this system shall terminate with the transfer of products covered hereunder to third parties.
Article 10 (Termination or lapse of the contract)
In cases of causes falling under the following cases, the contract of this system shall terminate or lapse forthwith, in which cases no refund shall be made of compensation charges which have been paid:
- 1. Compensation for a total loss has been made.
- 2. Products covered hereunder perished after their purchase dates.
- 3. Products covered hereunder were transferred to third parties.
